Isaiah the Solitary
Isaiah the Solitary, also known as Isaiah of Scetis or Isaiah of Gaza, was a fifth-century ascetic writer whose exact identity and textual history remain debated. The Asceticon associated with him became influential in eastern monastic traditions and survives in several languages. His teaching stres
