Alexander of Jerusalem
Alexander of Jerusalem was a third-century bishop remembered for learning, imprisonment, and support of the library and scholarly culture at Jerusalem and Caesarea. He lived before Constantine, when bishops often faced local persecution and churches depended on networks of letters and teachers. His
