Council of Florence
The Council of Ferrara-Florence-Rome met from 1438 to 1445. Its principal union decrees addressed disputed doctrines between Rome and several Eastern Christian delegations. The 1439 decree with the Greeks was signed at Florence but did not produce enduring reunion with most Eastern Orthodox churches
